Heat Treat Engineer – 1st Shift - Frankfort, Indiana
NTK Precision Axle Corporation, in Frankfort Indiana, is a global supplier of wheel HUB's and I/C Shafts for both two-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles. Our parts make their way to 15 different automakers, which translates to one third of the cars and light trucks on the open road, riding on our products! NTK also has a newly opened plant in Anderson, Indiana.
NTK is a joint partnership between N*TN Bearing, which began producing their innovative friction-reducing products in 1918, and currently boasts 68 production facilities worldwide; and *T*akao Kogyo, which contributes their many years of expertise in precise machining operations of powertrain parts to its 8 production facilities located in Japan, Asia and North America; and *K*oshuha Neturen*, which offers induction heating apparatus-related products, such as induction heat treatment and processing of I/C Shafts and Wheel HUB's. Neturen has operations in Japan, United States and China.

NTK’s some 250 associates have the capacity to produce an average of 1.6 million HUB's and I/C Shafts per month on our state-of-the-art robotically assisted CNC turning and induction heat treat lines.
The successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
Ability to analyze and prevent process defects
Responsible for new product launch
Coordinate major machine repairs and rebuilds
Engineer replacement components
Communicate with team members of all levels
BSME or BSMET
Experience in a high- volume production environment
Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent
Self-motivated with strong project management skills
Hands-on mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of abrasives – CBN or non-vertical
Experience with Surface Finish Requirements
Knowledge of tool testing and work holding
Experience with Induction Heat Treat Process
Knowledge of Metallurgy
Fully qualified candidates should possess the following:
5 years of experience and success as a Manufacturing Engineer.
BS degree in applicable discipline.
Demonstrated success in a leadership and team building role, with ability to coach and develop direct reports.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and fundamentals
Strong computer experience utilizing Microsoft programs and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
