A Day In The Life Typically Includes: The Plant Accountant position will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties and will allow the incumbent to gain experience, which will allow for advancement to positions of greater responsibility and technical ability throughout the company. Fiduciary Responsibilities:Internal financial control responsibilityInventory ManagementInventory ValuationAssist with month-end closingBalance sheet account reconciliationsMonthly ad hoc reportingSupport of centralized accounting teams What you will Need: Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting,Finance or Business Basic Requirements: At least 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experienceBasic understanding of a General Ledger and Cost Accounting principlesConceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controlsAptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automationExperience withMicrosoft Office Suite, including Excel (i.e. - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation etc.) PowerPoint (presentation creation and editing) and MS Word (document creation, formatting and editing etc.) Knowledge Skills - Abilities:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solvingproblemsBasic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others What Will Put You Ahead?Preferred Qualifications: Accounting coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting highly desiredMinimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting Coursework Inventory management experienceExperience as an accountant or analyst in a manufacturing environmentExperience in Public Accounting or Large Company Corporate Accounting Why Work For GP?
