Job Summary:

Responsible for understanding various processes and data streams which amasses information from a number of data sources into centralized databases. May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. Also responsible for loading data, running processes and producing reports in HEDIS reporting software. May make recommendations based upon data analysis. Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

  2. Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.

  3. Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

  4. Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary HEDIS ad hoc reports that identifies data and clinical trend.

  5. May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

  6. Create mapping documents to show source to target from database tables and columns to reporting results.

  7. Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity.

  8. Provide analytical support for Clinical Quality Data operations using SQL and Teradata.

  9. Ability to analyze large amounts of data across multiple system platforms and sources.

    1. Candidate should have Strong Data management skills.

    2. Candidate responsible for understanding various processes and data streams which amasses information from a number of data sources into centralized databases.

    4. Develops and analyzes business performance reports based on claims, provider, EMR and vendor data, provide notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

    5. Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary HEDIS ad hoc reports.

    6. Candidate should have experience in in transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful Clinical information.

    • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field.

    • Minimum of 5 years experience.

    • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.

    • Ability to manipulate large sets of data.

    • Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.

    • MS Access and SQL Server/Tera Data experience required.

    • Experience with HEDIS reporting software, experience in writing and executing SQL queries to analyze and validate data and experience in focused analytic consultation and customer collaboration.

    • Managed care experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of HEDIS preferred.

    • Data analysis of healthcare claims data strongly preferred.

    • This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling as compared to the Bus Info Analyst Sr job.
