Cox Enterprises Specialty Sales Representative in Indianapolis, Indiana
DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for enhancing the volume of Auction sales by developing new business and retaining existing customers within the Specialty (RV, Boats, Power sports) division. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist manager in developing and implementing new sales programs and revising existing programs to enhance customer participation. * Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. * Travel throughout assigned territory to call on and visit regular and prospective customers to develop new and retain existing business for the auction. * Maintain customer contact on sale days or by phone. Attend trade shows. * Display or demonstrate Auction sales and services, using brochures or other materials, and emphasize salable features. * Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer problems and issues. Serve as a liaison between customers and Auction personnel to reconcile problems and to maintain a high degree of customer service. * Assist manager in preparation of material for promotions and advertising. Prepare reports of business transactions and sales activity. Maintain expense account. * Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up-to-date. * Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. * Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor. * May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate. QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or equivalent education required. * 2 to 4 years sales experience required or advanced professional sales management education. * Must have knowledge of the automobile/auction industry. * Strong communication and interaction skills required. * Must have good organizational skills. * Must be able to use general office equipment (phone, copier, fax machine, etc.). * Basic computer software skills necessary. * Valid Driver's license required. * Ability to sit/drive for prolonged periods of time. * Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.
