Seasonal Employment Looking for CDL Class B Drivers. $15.00 per hour / guarantee at least 30 hours per week. November 27, 2017- March 3, 2018. $1,000 bonus for employment through 11/28/2017- 3/3/2018 Positions Open: Hammond through AngolaPosition Summary:The Seasonal Equipment Operator/ Laborer receive detailed instructions before and during work to perform a variety of highway maintenance duties.There is frequent exposure to inclement weather, fumes, exhaust, noise, vibrations, dust, dirt, fast moving traffic and potential traffic accidents during the performance of duties.The position is seasonal with employment NOT to extend beyond March, unless weather conditions dictate and the Company decides to extend employment through duration of weather emergency.Position Responsibilities:Patches, chips, seals and blacktopand#39;s roadsTrims around hedges and signs and cuts down and removes dead treesLoads and dumps crushed stone, sand, and salt from trucksOperates various types of equipment requiring moderate training; examples include, but are not limited to: trucks that may be equipped with abrasive spreader, oil distributor or bucket rig, scrapers, spreaders, sweepers or loaders, trenchers, post drivers, jack hammers, portable pavement marking machines and tar kettle, street sweepers and earth sawsCleans storm drains, sewers, bridge decks, piers, and culvertsAids in cleaning highway after accident and removes trash from roadsideAssists in performing various winter maintenance activities, such as operating and maintaining snow and ice removal equipment, sign, guardrail, and fence repair, rest and other related functions that are assigned and carried outEnsure proper care and cleaning of equipment as instructed by supervisorObey all safety policies and procedure guidelinesPerform patrolling duties as assignedSubject to twenty-four-(24) hour callPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma/ GEDAbility to use various hand tools and materials used in highway maintenanceAbility to operate a variety of highway maintenance equipment ranging from small power tools to large vehicular equipment requiring moderate trainingKnowledge of traffic laws that apply to light and heavy equipmentAbility to follow instructionsMust possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driverand#39;s License (CDL) Class B minimumMust be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs on a routine basis. Lifting may reach and exceed 100lbs at timesDesirable Experience:1-2 years experience with common equipment used in highway operationsPrevious snow plowing experienceWorking knowledge of highway maintenance practices
