EBU Turbo and Exhaust System Team Product Validation Engineer - Technical Specialist
Applies specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various areas and projects in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle. Creates design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions and assesses risk. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues. Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations.
Applies technical expertise on complex components or projects with minimal supervision.
Leads small projects or portions of large projects.
Provides technical direction for a project or a project team.
Participates as a key contributor and is accountable for project success.
Influences at department or program management level.
Provides input on program-related decisions.
Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.
Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering discipline(s) and leverages expertise on other projects.
Troubleshoots complex problems and recommends appropriate actions.
This position applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the development and release of new Turbocharging and Exhaust Systems.
Evaluates customer requirements and assists in creating sub-system specific design specifications including cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. Verifies sub-system robustness using analysis, rig and engine testing. Interprets results, develops risk assessments and leads technical decision making. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional groups to resolve product issues prior to launch. Participates as a team member and actively contributes towards team goals.
Project Management - Has a good understanding of and effectively applies project management techniques to multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Requirements Management – Able to create design specifications considering cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacturing, assembly and service.
Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (DFMEA) - Able to update existing or create new product DFMEAs. Able to lead a cross-functional team through the all aspects of the iDFMEA process (boundary diagram, functional analysis, P-diagram, and the DFMEA with the help of a specialist if needed)
Product Validation Test Execution - Understands the purpose, content and steps in developing and managing a product validation test plan. Capable of interpreting test results and driving decisions based on those results.
Product Problem Solving – Knowledge of problem solving processes (7 Step, 8D, FTAs, Fishbone diagrams, etc…). Able to lead cross functional teams through the process of solving complex or critical problem Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering required.

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, such as responsibility for several components of a project or a complex component of a project.
Previous experience or knowledge of Turbochargers, Exhaust Systems or Internal Combustion Engines not required but desired.
